The Raise Cumbria organisation brings together communities, landowners, policy makers and artists to co-create sustainable woodland in diverse landscapes to address the climate crisis and improve the health, wellbeing and opportunities of Cumbrian people. They needed a brand identity and digital presence that reflected their values of sustainability, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
The brand had to resonate with a diverse range of stakeholders while maintaining consistency across digital platforms and physical materials like workwear. The visual identity needed to be adaptable for a growing organisation and reflect its mission statement, “It takes a community to raise a forest.” The organisation also needed a launch website that could function as an informational hub as well as a space for collaboration and engagement.

Key deliverables included developing a memorable name that encapsulated the organisation’s mission and belief that ‘it takes a community to raise a forest’. This was swiftly followed by logos and visual themes that could carry the ethos of environmental and community regeneration. Construction of an engaging and informative website completed phase one along with a comprehensive set of guidelines and a suite of branded touchpoints to ensure each engagement with the brand raised awareness and sometimes even a smile.
We developed a memorable name and visual identity reflecting Raise Cumbria’s regeneration, sustainability, and community ethos. A cohesive brand system and full set of guidelines accompanied by logos and visual themes ensured recognition across all touchpoints.
An engaging website was designed as more than an informational platform, it became a hub for collaboration, inviting community input and interaction. The platform was built to be informative, visually compelling, and easy to navigate.
Strategic branding was applied across workwear and other physical items to enhance visibility and reinforce the communal nature of Raise Cumbria’s activities. A comprehensive set of guidelines ensured consistency in every aspect of the brand.
